Introduction
An outpatient opioid treatment clinic in Denver came to us with a website that was working against it. The site described the clinic inaccurately, had no analytics behind it, and was losing search visibility to a similarly named business in the same city.
We replaced it with a custom-built website in about a month: calmer and more hopeful in tone, accurate about how patients actually start care, and set up from day one to measure what it does.
02
About the client
The client is a CARF-accredited Opioid Treatment Program in Denver offering methadone therapy, medication-assisted treatment, individual and group counseling, and recovery support services. Patients dose six days a week, so the website has to answer practical questions fast: when the clinic is open, how intake works, and whether their insurance is accepted.
03
The challenge
- The old site was built by a previous designer on a drag-and-drop website builder, with no Google Search Console, no Tag Manager and no working analytics, so nobody could see how it performed.
- Its headline described the clinic as a walk-in clinic. The clinic does accept walk-ins, but it is an opioid treatment program, and patients were arriving expecting same-day care at any hour because the website told them so.
- Another business with a near-identical name competes for the same searches in Denver, and the client needed to rank above it.
- Addiction treatment is a heavy subject. The client wanted a site that felt warm and hopeful rather than clinical.
- Paid search and paid social were not an option, because Google and Meta require LegitScript certification for this category. Organic search had to carry the load.
04
Project objectives
- Rebuild the site on a fast, custom platform the clinic owns, replacing the website builder.
- Make every message match what the front desk actually tells patients, starting with intake and walk-ins.
- Put hours, directions, the phone number and crisis information within reach on every page.
- Build the on-page SEO and tracking foundation the clinic had never had.
05
Design direction
The first preview used AI-generated clinic interiors. The client told us they looked fake and could mislead patients about what the clinic looks like, which is exactly the kind of trust problem a treatment provider cannot afford. We replaced them with real Colorado mountain photography, a nod to the mountains in the clinic’s own logo.
After the design review we shipped 15 requested changes the same day.
- A brighter, more hopeful blue palette in place of the darker first draft.
- A short quote that hangs on the wall of the clinic, restored to the homepage because it means something to the staff and patients.
- The primary call to action changed from “Start Intake” to “Let’s Talk”, which asks far less of someone who is only beginning to consider treatment.
- A gentle mountain preloader transition that the client singled out after launch.
- A three-step “Getting started” section that explains the first call, the first visit and daily care in plain language.
06
Messaging that matches the front desk
We rewrote the site around how intake really works. The walk-in headline is gone, replaced with walk-ins welcome framing and the 11:30 AM same-day intake cutoff, so nobody arrives at the door expecting something the clinic cannot offer. Service pages explain each treatment in plain, non-judgmental language, with dosing hours and the difference between methadone and Suboxone spelled out.
07
Trust and safety on every page
- An eyebrow bar with hours, phone and directions sits at the top of every page.
- 911 and 988 crisis information appears on every page, above the footer.
- The CARF accreditation seal is restored and links straight to CARF’s provider directory for verification.
- Live chat was added so patients can ask a question without picking up the phone.
08
SEO and tracking foundation
Each service has its own page built around the terms patients search for, including methadone therapy, group counseling and recovery support services, with written meta titles and descriptions and medical structured data. Google Search Console, GA4 and Google Tag Manager were set up from scratch, so for the first time the clinic can see how people find it.
09
Timeline
- Agreement signed in early August, kickoff two days later.
- Homepage preview at the end of August, followed by a full design review.
- The complete site went live in the first week of September, about one month after kickoff.
- The domain stays client-owned, and the source code transfers to the clinic at the end of the term.

What comes next
The build is the foundation, not the finish line. The next phase adds location pages, ongoing blog content and Google Business Profile optimization, alongside conversion tracking for form fills so the clinic can see which pages bring patients in. We will publish the results here once there are a few months of data behind them.
